Installation
How to install Standard gauge.
Remove headlight and glove box from stock hood. Disconnect wires from gauge, and lift the gauge from the rubber gasket. Be sure to retain that gasket. Place the gasket into the opening on the Xero hood and slide the gauge into place. The pressure from the gauge will engage the notches on the gasket which hold the gauge in place. Reconnect wiring.
How to install 7s gauge.
Remove headlight from stock hood. Remove glove box. Disconnect all wiring from the gauge and hood including the antennae. One antennae is connected with double-sided tape, use care when removing from hood. Retain the four bolts that held the gauge to the glove box door. Place the 7s gauge into the Xero hood opening and use those four bolts and the supplied white brackets to pinch the gauge in place. Re-install all wiring into the back of the gauge. Install antennae into the pre-drilled hole and zip tie up remaining wiring to keep away from melting on the pipe.
How to install hood.
Remove the stock hood's quarter turn fasteners and re-install on the Xero hood. Standing in front of the sled, place gauge side of hood down first and then the nose. Light pressure down will pop the nose down over the hood mounts. Tighten down the quarter turn fasteners, light pressure in and down is usually necessary to get the bolt to line up with the hole. Plug in the gauge wiring harness.
What if my hood doesn't fit?
We do our best not to make the fitment too tight. However, sometimes a cut get a little off, or a sled is a little bit tweaked from impact, or another aftermarket part may be interfering with the hood. A customer can adjust the fit of the hood by sanding down the edges to create more room. Use a corse grit sandpaper to ease back the edge to where you need it to be. We typically use 60/80 grit when we ease the edges after cutting.
Shipping
How does shipping work?
We ship hoods via UPS for a flat fee of $80. This may seem high, but it's actually less than what it costs to ship such a large box. We can fit two hoods into one box, so if you purchase two shipping will remain just $80. So you should definitely convince your buddy to get one and both of you can be the coolest sledders in the lot and on the mountain.

Modification
Drilling Carbon Fiber
Drilling carbon fiber is just like drilling any other material. It's best to use a sharp bit, preferably carbide but not completely necessary so long as the bit is sharp. Heat is the enemy here, so it's best to use some lubrication and dip the bit in cooling water between each hole. To avoid bit tear out, start with small diameter bits and work your way up to the desired hole size. We recommend de-burring after drilling.
Cutting Carbon Fiber
If you want to cut your own venting or mount other accessories, it is very easy to cut carbon fiber. Keep heat down to avoid delamination. In a pinch you can use any sharp, fine-tooth cutting blade. However, we reommend and prefer to use diamond coated abrasives. Diamond coated jigsaw blades are available, but we prefer the flexibility of mini diamond coated discs that attach to a dremel. These don't require a pilot hole and can get into most corners. Best of all, they are very inexpensive and widely available in your local hardware store or the internet.
Cut Templates
When printing these templates, be sure to print at 100% scale. If you change the scale, you will not get an accurate cut. And remember, you only get one chance to get it right!
